Photography

I took this medium close up image in the park outside college. It has a slight tilt up that i did by standing above Abbi on a piece of wood. This gave the impression that Abbi is all cute and innocent. I have also put her slightly off centre and i believe that her eye line is a tiny bit below the 3rd line.  The sun is to the right of her but not too much so that it causes a lot of shadowing. This image is my favourite of all the ones i took because i think all the different techniques have worked well together. I think this image would look better if the background was more out of focus.

This image was also taken in the park and is a long shot. I tried to use the shadow as a diagonal line that would guide the viewer to my focal point, i think this has worked fairly well but could have looked a lot better if the shadow was longer. To achieve this i would need to have taken it earlier (or later) in the day. I like that the camera has created a lense flair as it makes the photo seem more raw and fresh.

In this extreme long shot i have tried to use the tree and the path to frame the image, this is done to highlight the focal point for the viewer. This could have been framed better if i had moved to the right a little more so that the tree wasn't quite as close to the bench, however this would have chopped off or hidden part of the bin, which i think looks good where it is.

I usually prefer to take landscape photos but i tried taking this portrait one and i think it has come off really well. This is a very slight tilt down making her look inferior however her eye line is in the 3rd section which gives Abbi authority, therefore in this photograph she comes off fairly neutral. I think that putting her to the left of the frame and facing the sun is a really nice effect, this image could have looked better if it had a more interesting backdrop, for example the view from the top of a city.

This is the only extreme close up i took, i think this could have been an awesome image but unfortunately i did not focus it correctly so her eye (the focal point) is ever so slightly blurred. Currently Abbi's hair is perfectly in focus making it the focal point, this was not my objective.

This photograph is a medium close up. I believe that the colouring in this looks really nice because Abbi's hoodie matches some of the posters. However it is unclear if Abbi or the posters is the focal point, to fix this i should have had her standing closer to the camera and then blurred the background a tiny bit. I also think that the lighting is not quite right as the sun was completely 90 degrees to her right which has made her face and body too dark. i also think that the gap between the top of her head and the top of the photo is too big.
